Home Infusion Therapy is a cost effective way for a patient to receive strong medications through an intravenous (IV) line in the comfort of their own home. Intravenous therapy is prescribed for a patient when medication, fluids, and/or nutrients must be administered directly into the bloodstream for maximum benefit. An IV catheter, or tube, is placed into a vein located in your arm, chest, or abdomen.

A nurse will visit your home and teach you and your caregiver how to safely and competently administer your IV medication. Your nurse will work with you to choose a schedule at home to manage your treatment and help you return to your normal lifestyle.
